• Wash cold, inside out
• Air dry when you can

Don't

• Use high heat in the dryer — it's the #1 cause of shrinkage
• Overload the wash with rough fabrics (denim, zippers) that cause pilling

Bottom line: cold wash, inside out, air dry. Do this and a heavyweight tee easily outlasts a season.
